An Outstanding SEND school based in Haringey which caters for pupils with ASD is recruiting for a Team Teach trained Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work within their secondary site. The headteacher and SENCo of this high-achieving school are keen to appoint a bright, ambitious Special Needs Learning Support Assistant who has experience working with students with complex Autism and be happy to support challenging behaviour. As the successful special needs teaching assistant you will require a Team Teach qualification. The behaviour of these pupils can be quite challenging at times, as such the school are seeking a restraint trained to learn support assistant. This is a full-time role, 5 days a week, to start ASAP and continue for the full academic year. PAY – £85 – £110 a day The role will involve • Supporting Secondary Pupils with ASD and Challenging behaviour • Working alongside the teacher to plan and prepare to engage, fun sessions for small groups of learners that need additional support • Firm but fair behaviour management skills To be considered for this role you must; • Have previous experience working with SEND • Be a team player – this role requires someone who works well with teachers, pupils and parents • Demonstrate commitment, dedication and resilience in your previous childcare work • Have an ability to manage sometimes challenging behaviour
