Teaching Assistant – SEMH School in Rossendale

Term-Time only

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work in an SEMH school in Rossendale. The ideal candidate will have a Team Teach qualification and experience of deescalating challenging behaviour in children from Key Stage 2 – Key Stage 4.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the class teacher with delivering a range of engaging and differentiated lessons to pupils with SEMH needs.
• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural and emotional difficulties.
• Deescalating challenging behaviour and managing behaviour in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and parents/carers.
• Supporting pupils with developing their social, emotional, and academic skills.

Requirements:

• Previous experience of working with children with SEMH needs.
• Experience of working with children from Key Stage 2 – Key Stage 4.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to work.
• A passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
