Reed Education are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants and SEN Teaching Assistants to start in the new year. These opportunities will be supporting individuals who will have social, emotional and mental health needs.
Hours: Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 3:30pmSalary: Starting at £75 a day (depending on experience)
Key responsibilities
To work under the specific supervision, instruction and guidance of the class teacher to support the teaching and learning activities in the classroom with pupils and behaviour, emotional and social needs.
To provide general support to the class teacher in the organisation and management of pupils and the classroom ensuring the appropriate support for each pupil, dependant on their individual planned needs.
To assist the teaching in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supporting learning environment for all pupils, particularly helping to overcome multi barriers to learning social, emotional and behaviour difficulties.
To promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
To be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health & safety, SEN/inclusion and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person.
To adhere to health and safety policy, including risk assessment and safety systems.
To adhere to policies on equality and diversity.
To appreciate and support the roles of other professionals.
Participate in performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with line manager.
