Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Do you have experience working as a teaching assistant in a primary school setting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking for a SEN teaching assistant to join our friendly and inclusive school in East London. You will work with pupils who have a range of learning difficulties, such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and sensory impairments. You will provide them with individualised support, both in and out of the classroom, to help them achieve their full potential. As a SEN teaching assistant, you will: Work closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to plan and deliver effective interventions Use a variety of strategies and resources to engage and motivate the pupils Monitor and record the pupils’ progress and feedback to the relevant staff Assist with the pupils’ personal care needs, such as toileting, feeding, and dressing Promote the pupils’ social and emotional development and foster positive relationships Follow the school’s policies and procedures regarding safeguarding, behaviour, and health and safetyTo be successful in this role, you will: Have a minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in supporting teaching and learning Have previous experience working as a teaching assistant, preferably with SEN pupils Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Have a positive and flexible attitude Have a commitment to ongoing professional development Have an enhanced DBS check or be willing to obtain oneWe can offer you: A supportive and collaborative team of staff A welcoming and diverse community of pupils and parents A stimulating and well-resourced learning environment A range of training and development opportunities A competitive salary and benefits package What you need to do now If you’re interested in this role, click ‘apply now’ to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
