SEND Teaching Assistant

• Location: Gillingham, Tenyham, Sittingbourne
• Contract Type: Long-term, Temp to Perm
• Salary: £90-£100 per day

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and inclusive school community. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs and disabilities, working collaboratively with our team to foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Day to day of the role:

• Offer one-to-one support to students with SEND, facilitating their participation and engagement during lessons.
• Work in partnership with teachers to create and implement individualised learning strategies and accommodations.
• Assist in managing classroom behaviour, promoting positive interactions and a supportive atmosphere.
• Provide personal care assistance to students as needed, including help with toileting, feeding, and mobility.
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and collaborate effectively with the teaching team to monitor development.
• Contribute to an inclusive classroom environment where diversity is celebrated and all students feel valued.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable but not essential.
• A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• A commitment to upholding principles of equality and diversity in education.
• A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
