SEN Teacher / Secondary SEN School – Southampton – Summer TermAcademics are looking for an empathetic and dedicated SEN teacher to carry out a full-time contract in an SEN School in Southampton starting ASAP.
They are a 320 place secondary school for young people with a range of complex learning needs including autism and speech and language difficulties. You will be required to teach a year 7 class.
They follow a broad and balanced curriculum with a particular emphasis on developing communication, literacy, numeracy and personal and social skills. In addition they also focus on creativity and the arts which has proved an extremely successful way of engaging their young people in helping to promote their self esteem and self confidence.
Pupils benefit from an experienced and dedicated specialist SEN staff team who have skills in working in a range of curriculum areas as well an understanding and empathy for the needs of young people with learning difficulties. They have specialist facilities include a sensory rooms, IT suites, sports hall and theatre.This role is ideally suited to someone who has taught in an SEN school, or specialist provision although not essential. The main priority is finding someone who is kind, calm, engaging and creative who loves working with children with special educational needs.
