Reed Education is working with a Special School for students with SEMH needs based in South West Surrey. The school is searching for x2 new SEN teachers to start immediately.
This SEN Teacher role will be within the secondary side of the school working within KS3 and KS4. The classes operate on a primary model.
Responsibilities
- For this SEN Teacher role you will need to demonstrate your enthusiasm and pro-activeness. You will need to motivate these students and work with students with SEMH needs.
- You will need to prepare creative and innovate lessons for the students in accordance with their EHCP. Subject knowledge is vital.
- Teaching lessons, preparing lessons, marking and participation within parents’ evening will be expected.
Qualifications/Experience
- Ideally the SEN Teacher will need QTS. However the school is will consider unqualified SEN Teacher with relevant experience.
- Subject knowledge is essential as well as knowledge of Primary and Secondary curriculum.
- Experience working within SEN is essential. Especially working with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
- ECT/Newly Qualified SEN Teachers will be considered for this position

- This school is a well-known and highly regarded special school in Surrey and stands in 56 acres of wooded grounds with ample space for recreational activities.
- The curriculum is enriched by specialist teachers, trips and a wide range of vocational studies, practical elements and additional resources. The successful SEN Teacher will become part of the team and will continue this ethos.
- The school caters for up to 150 pupils and Sixth Form students between the ages of 7 – 19, who have a range of academic abilities and complex needs.
