Contract Type: Full time/Long term

Salary: £120 – £190 per Day

About role:

• To be able to teach one or more Sciences at A Level
• To engage in active participation in all staff meetings and CPD
• To act as the Line Manager of the Science Technician and if the need requires to take on this role temporarily.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans in line with the curriculum, fostering a deep understanding of scientific concepts among students.
• Teach various scientific disciplines, including but not limited to biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science, to students of different age groups and abilities.
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and promote active student engagement.
• Conduct laboratory experiments and practical demonstrations to enhance students’ practical skills and scientific knowledge.
• Evaluate and assess student progress through regular assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, scientific curiosity, and collaboration among students.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences to ensure effective communication and continuous improvement.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in scientific research, methodologies, and educational technology to enhance teaching practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in science or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
• QTS or relevant teaching qualification.
• Previous experience teaching general science at the secondary school level is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of scientific principles across various disciplines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues.
• Proficiency in incorporating technology into teaching practices.
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
• Organizational skills to manage lesson planning, assessments, and classroom materials effectively.
