Ballet and opera capture the deepest emotions and tell universal stories. The Royal Opera House wants to share these life-changing artforms, and their power to move and excite, with as many people as we can. Our Learning and Participation (L&P) programme, based at our Covent Garden and Thurrock homes and across England, aims to inspire creativity, offering people of all ages the chance to discover, question and respond to the power of our artforms.
Our L&P programme is distinctive in its scale and ambitions, involving more than 50,000 annual participants across three strands. These are our award-winning, multi-disciplinary National Schools Programme, our talent development work through opera and ballet training networks and participatory events in our Covent Garden home. Our work in the East will facilitate local place-based partnerships in Levelling Up for Culture places offering a range of ROH teacher development programmes and creative interventions for children and young people as well as offering support for cultural education partnerships across Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and North Kent.
We are now looking for a Schools Partnerships Manager to drive this work forwards, scaling up the National Schools Programme’s reach to schools across the East whilst evidencing impact. This role will have specific responsibility for nurturing new relationships with schools, Trusts and wider education partnerships across the Eastern region, prioritising Levelling up for Culture places.
