As part of several very exciting developments, we are expanding our provisions and therefore delighted to announce the planned opening of a further independent co-educational school. The Grange School will provide learning and supportive environment activities for 60 primary and secondary aged children and young people from across Key Stages 2-4. Phoenix Learning and Care support students with Mental Health difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Social, Emotional and Behavioural difficulties and associated complex needs.
The Grange School buildings are situated within a wonderful campus that provides several educational environments within its curtilage. These facilities will enable clear transition between each Key Stage and meaningful pathways towards improved independence and skills. The school will initially open with our primary provision, before progressing to the development of our secondary phase.
Due to this exciting development, we are looking to recruit a school Administrative Manager. This is a great opportunity for those seeking to work within a new and supportive environment or those who have already experienced working in a school environment. Skills and Requirements:
Hold good numeracy / literacy skills – at level 2 or equivalent
Have relevant understanding of administration systems and processes
Have knowledge of education-based MIS systems
Be able to input, store and retrieve information from digital sources
Have experience of dealing with parents and external agencies/customers
Have sound IT skills including ability to use Microsoft Office software
Have effective oral communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations – face-to-face, telephone, groups
Have excellent written communication skills including the ability to draft clear and concise plans
Have strong interpersonal skills: the skills to relate effectively to parents, professionals and colleagues
Have the ability to lead and manage a small team of Administrators
Have the ability to work independently and on own initiative, requiring minimal supervision
Role:
In your role, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Leadership Team and wider school to deliver a person-centred inspirational and meaningful education provision.
We are seeking an Administrative Manager who is committed to providing a high level of support that will enable the school to enrich the lives of others. Therefore, it would be an advantage to have experience of working in a school environment, as well as possessing knowledge of associated systems and processes.
As a critical part of The Grange School team, you will play an instrumental role in helping shape the school and position it as a sector leading provider of inspirational education. You will assist in further building on the Phoenix Learning and Care reputation for delivering high-quality teaching and learning, and for offering support to those that often challenge conventional settings. You will work closely with the Head Teacher to support implementation of this new school provision.
Within your role you will be required:
to welcome all visitors to the school, controlling the issue of visitors’ passes, and notifying team members as appropriate
to operate the telephone system and ensure that messages are efficiently recorded and distributed
to open and distribute, as necessary, incoming email messages sent to the school mailbox
to maintain a list of visitors, and signing-out books for staff and students, in order to ensure an orderly evacuation of the buildings in the event of fire
to complete service checks/audits to ensure compliance
to maintain stocks of stationery items
to attend meeting in the capacity of a note taker, ensuring that this information is then effectively captured and shared as required
to assist members of the Senior Management Team with appropriate tasks as required
to record all contact received and made on the school MIS system in line with agreed procedures and service levels
to provide administrative support in setting up transitional meetings and EHCP reviews where appropriate
to ensure the administrative team is effective and efficient in providing support to the school
to delegate duties within the administrative team effectively
to undertake a performance management role for team members within the administrative team
