Job Title: Psychology Teacher

Location: Reigate

Contract: Full Time – Long Term

Salary: £31,000 – £47,800 per annum

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and interactive psychology lessons to secondary students, fostering their understanding of psychological theories, concepts, and research methods.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with the educational standards and objectives of the school.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student participation, critical thinking, and respectful discourse.
• Provide individualized support and guidance to students, addressing their unique learning needs and challenges.
• Design and assess various forms of student evaluation, including assignments, tests, projects, and presentations.
• Encourage student exploration of psychology through practical activities, experiments, and case studies.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in the field of psychology and incorporate relevant and current content into the curriculum.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that integrate psychology with other subjects.
• Maintain open communication with parents/guardians, providing feedback on student progress and addressing any concerns or queries.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
• Teaching certification or qualification in secondary education.
• Proven experience teaching psychology at the secondary level (previous teaching experience is highly desirable).
• Strong knowledge and understanding of psychological theories, concepts, and research methods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and academic growth.
• Proficient in using technology for instructional purposes and classroom management.
• Organizational skills to plan lessons, manage student work, and maintain accurate records.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for staying updated with current educational practices.
