PE TeacherLocation: York, North YorkshireStart Date: Immediate StartSalary: MPS/UPS: £30,000 – £46,525 per annumContract Type: Interim Contract, Full TimeGSL Education’s North Yorkshire Branch is looking to appoint an ambitious, energetic, and passionate PE Teacher for an Alternative Provision in York, North Yorkshire starting immediately. This is an interim cover position, delivering PE lessons to both Primary and Secondary aged students. About the School:

• An Alternative Provision which provides education to students from age 4 to 16 years.

• The goal of the school is to give young people the tools they need to overcome learning obstacles in the future so they can succeed in society.
• The school’s curriculum is designed to challenge and inspire the students, encouraging students to explore a wide range of subjects and discover their passions.
• They have a high number of students with additional learning or neurodevelopmental needs, such as ADHD and autism.
• The school makes sure that every chance is given to each student to succeed and eventually be able to contribute positively to society.

PE Teacher Responsibilities:

• Implementing age and ability-appropriate physical education activities for Primary and Secondary pupils, predominantly secondary and mixed classes.
• Work with young people to enhance their teamwork and social skills.
• Demonstrating proper techniques and providing clear instructions to ensure students understand and can perform the activities correctly.
• Maintaining a safe environment during physical activities.
• Evaluating students’ progress and performance in physical education through various assessment methods, such as skill tests, fitness assessments, and observations.
• Working closely with other teachers, administrators, and parents to support students’ overall development and well-being.

PE Teacher Requirements:

• Have experience planning and delivering PE. BTEC PE teaching experience is also relevant.
• Be able to differentiate accordingly for Special Educational Needs such as Learning Difficulties, Autism and SEMH.
• Be able to provide a 10-year career history with relevant reference details, covering the last 2 years of employment. Placements will be accepted for Early Career Teachers.
• Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education. DBS sponsorship is applicable for this position.
