Queen Mary University of London

£42,405 – £49,785 per annum (Grade 5)
Ref: QMUL34093
About Us
This is an exciting time within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD). We have recently launched our new Digital Education Studio (DES), a centre of excellence where experts of digital education, will work together with teaching teams and students to co-design and advance digital learning and teaching practices.
The DES will be pivotal in establishing a new model for designing digital learning courses of consistent high quality and for a community of practice that will ensure the Faculty’s programmes continue to open the doors of opportunity to a Queen Mary University of London education.
For more detailed information on our vision for the DES, including that of our new Dean for Digital Education, Professor Chie Adachi, please visit our website .
To support the next stages of our ambitious plans, we are looking to appoint a Multimedia Producer.
About The Role
This pivotal role will provide you with the opportunity to support the growth and transformation of digital education in FMD. You will be critical in creating, filming, and editing videos and audio for high quality media assets to be used across our education portfolio. Current projects include the design and development of new Postgraduate programmes, spanning from Medical Education to Robotic Surgery.
Within the DES you will be able to work across different locations within London, managing pre-production, call-sheets, and storyboards so we certainly won’t be limiting you to only the technical camera aspects of the work.
And when it comes to editing your work, well, our hybrid working options means you can do all of this in a place that is best suited for you, with the flexibility of managing your own time to deliver a final product to be proud of that supports the impact digital education can have on the workforce of the future.
About You
Within Queen Mary University of London, we actively welcome diversity of ideas, thought and background. For this reason, while an understanding of the Digital Education industry would be beneficial, it is not essential that you come from a Higher Education background.
As part of a small (12 person) interdisciplinary team, we want someone with a passion for delivering transformation, creativity in thought and a desire to use their expertise in Videography/Multimedia production to help shape our ambitious plans, but who can keep core education / learning principles front of mind throughout.
You may have worked at a similar level and might see our role as the ideal opportunity to add to your current portfolio and deliver real change. Alternatively, you might have been part of a much larger production or videography team and might see our role as your opportunity to have the overall responsibility and greater ownership of seeing a project through its whole lifecycle.
Whatever your motivations for applying, you will be a creative videographer with an eye for detail, and someone who can produce engaging content (educational in our case) for a variety of audiences. Your work will positively engage target audiences and, most importantly, you will be innovative and bold in your approach to any content you create.
Our Benefits
We believe in supporting our colleagues. Alongside the competitive salary for this post, we offer a range of work life balance and family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, access to a comprehensive range of personal and professional development opportunities and campus facilities including an on-site nursery at the Mile End campus.
We also offer access to a generous pension scheme; 30 days’ leave per annum and a season ticket loan scheme to support travel costs.
Our Commitment
QMUL’s commitment to our diverse and inclusive community is embedded in our appointments processes. Reasonable adjustments will be made at each stage of the recruitment process for any candidate with a disability. We are open to considering applications from candidates wishing to work flexibly.
