The new Department of Media, Culture and Creative Industries draws together academic staff specialising in English, Publishing and Creative Writing; Media and Communication; Information and Library Science; as well as Cultural and Creative Industries. The Department’s Publishing programmes (MA Publishing; MA International Publishing; MA Creative Writing and Publishing) have gone from strength to strength and the candidate will play a leading role in shaping their future in a way that derives from their industry expertise. Publishing colleagues also deliver specialist modules on the BA English.
Responsibilities
You will be expected to plan and teach a number of modules at BA and MA level spanning a range of issues and practices in contemporary publishing and the creative industries more broadly. You will need to demonstrate the capacity to engage effectively with student learners from a range of backgrounds and abilities, and to think seriously about publishing in all of its forms in both a business context and in an academic context.
Person Specification
Candidates who apply for the Education role will need to have a first degree in a relevant subject and a postgraduate degree or equivalent professional experience in the publishing industry. Candidates who apply for the Education and Research role will need to have a PhD in a related area.
