DETAILS OF THE POSITION Location – Newport Position – Secondary Teaching Assistant/ Learning Support Assistant Type of work – Teaching Assistant Contract or position start date – ASAP Duration / Likely Duration – 6 Months – On going Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) – Temporary Full time/part time – Full time Minimum rate of pay – £84.00 per day Hours – 8:30 am – 3:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and group support to students, both in and outside of the classroom.
• Assist teachers with planning, preparing, and delivering lessons that meet the needs of individual students.
• Help students with their classwork, homework, and revision, and provide feedback on their progress.
• Create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
• Supervise students during break times and lunchtimes and support them in their social and emotional development.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through involvement in extracurricular activities, such as clubs, trips, and events.
• Carry out administrative and clerical tasks, such as photocopying, filing, and recording attendance.

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience of working in a similar role in a school setting.
• Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities and backgrounds.
• A passion for education and a commitment to supporting students’ learning and development.
• Flexibility, resilience, and a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider life of the school community.

ELEGIBILITY: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application. Also, registration with the EWC. Provide two professional child related references
