Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (Behaviour and SEMH)

Location: Eastleigh

Contract: Full-time, Temp to Perm

Start Date: As soon as possible

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting students with challenging behaviour and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for a committed Learning Support Assistants in Eastleigh, this is a long-term position starting as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with behaviour and SEMH needs.
• Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques to support students in regulating their emotions and behaviour.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create and implement individualised learning plans.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes students’ social and emotional well-being.
• Monitor and track students’ progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and parents.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role, particularly with students exhibiting challenging behaviour and SEMH needs.
• A genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs and a strong understanding of their specific challenges.
• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Desired Qualifications:

• Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or SEMH support would be beneficial but not essential.
