Academics Ltd are working with an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school in Havering which are seeking an IT and Computer Science teacher for September.

The role:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Curriculum planning
• Staff development (including continuing professional development and engaging fully in the Performance Management Review process)
• Management of information (including maintaining appropriate records and tracking student progress)
• Communications with students, parents and other stakeholders
• Pastoral system (including being a form tutor to a selected group of students)

The right candidate:

• Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
• Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice)
• Plan and Execute lessons across KS3-KS4
• Be able to communicate positively with parents, carers and other external agencies
• Have excellent time management skills
• Be able to motivate students and raise their aspirations through a range of strategies

About the school:

This school is a very popular and oversubscribed 11-16 academy. They are due to open a Sixth Form for 400 students in September 2023 and are looking for ambitious and dedicated staff who wish to be a part of the school. They have a dedicated group of staff who are deeply committed to serve our community. We have built a school on our core values of Belong, believe, Become. These values are at the heart of our school and all that they do.

The school takes a ‘firm but fair approach’ and they are built on the use of consistent routines and teaching the students how to behave. The schools leadership team are role models that lead by examples and welcoming opinions.

During their last inspection, Ofsted commented that ‘Pupils behave well in lessons and around the school. They are polite and courteous’. They also highlighted that ‘staff are highly motivated and proud to work at the school’ and that ‘The school’s work to promote tolerance is strong. Pupils said the school is inclusive, respectful of the differences between individuals.
