Instructor Demonstrator Assessor Electrical Engineering Location: Middlesbrough Salary: up to £26,631 per annum Type: Permanent Hours: 37 hours per week Mon Fri Imperial Professionals are currently recruiting exclusively for Middlesbrough College who are looking to appoint an Instructor Demonstrator Assessor in Electrical Engineering Main Purpose: To instruct, train, demonstrate and assess students on competence based/skills based learning programmes devised. Duties: Support lecturing staff on competence-based skills to standards set by external bodies, currently industry-led bodies and awarding bodies: in workshops and associated workrooms in the workplace establishing, monitoring and assessing work experience/placement activities in realistic work environments Train, demonstrate, assess and support students on competence based/skills-based learning programmes devised. Assist individual student/trainees in the development of their individual learning plan in order to achieve their objectives and to meet external set standards. Maintain safe working practices. The upkeep of learning resources/equipment used within the learning programme; reporting faults and repair to the appropriate technician/manager. Support the student application and enrolment process in liaison with teaching staff and administrative staff. Assist in the guidance of students within the learning programmes, including carrying out 1/1 tutorials. Contribute to promotional materials and activities within the learning programmes and publicity and public relations events, e.g., open days. Assist with college administration, including contribution to statistical returns such as retention rates, assessment results and student destinations. Participate in appropriate team meetings and liaise with all staff, students and external agencies as necessary to fulfil the duties of the post. Show an active commitment to the College s Equality and Diversity Policy, Quality Frameworks and Health & Safety Procedures. Actively participate in Continuous Professional development including the introduction of new technologies to allow you to contribute effectively to the success of the College. Carry out such other appropriate duties commensurate with your skills, knowledge and experience. College may, in consultation with you, need to vary these duties from time to time in order to respond to the changing requirements of the College. Requirements: To hold an Electrical Engineering based NVQ qualification at a minimum Level 3. To be a qualified teacher or must be prepared to commence an appropriate teaching qualification on appointment to the post. Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent) or willing to undertake. A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role. Assessor and Verifier Awards Desirable. Teaching or Training Experience Desirable. First Aid qualification Desirable. Current and relevant industrial experience or time served apprentice in an Electrical Engineering sector.
