Head of History Permanent Contract State of the art secondary school September Start

We are fantastic secondary school located in Hemel Hempstead and we are looking for a talented Head of History on a permanent basis for a September start.

This Head of History role is open to an experienced History teacher that is keen to take the next step into middle management. Or a current Head of History that is just looking for a brand new challenge.
You’ll be leading a team of talented History Teachers, and History graduates that will train to become teachers.

The Senior Leadership Team is exceptionally strong, and the school has a brilliant track record of producing excellent results. You will be joining an excellent humanities department and will have the chance to make a real difference within the department!

Ideally, the Head Teacher is looking for a History Teacher with experience of being a 2iC, KS3 / KS4 Coordinator or having similar responsibilities.

JOB DESCRIPTION – HEAD OF HISTORY
• Head of History
• Leading a team of History Teachers & History graduates
• Teaching History to a KS3-5 level
• Working alongside a forward thinking & inspirational Executive Head Teacher
• September start – Full Time & Permanent Contract
• MPS/ UPS3 + TLR2C
• Located in Hemel Hempstead

PERSON SPECIFICATION – HEAD OF HISTORY
• Must have UK QTS
• You must be willing to work hard and lead from the front setting the standards
• Must be confident within their ability to Teach to an ‘Outstanding’ level
• Fantastic knowledge of the History curriculum is required
• Ideally experience of 2iC or Key Stage Coordinator
