Due to our continued success, we are looking to welcome more Head Coaches who are critical to delivering first class PE and sport in our schools and communities. Our Head Coaches are fundamental in leading and supporting high quality, fun and engaging PE lessons and clubs within our partner schools and maintaining a positive relationship with all the children, staff and parents in our school communities. Location: Office based at Ashton Gate Stadium; however, coaching delivery will be in schools and leisure facilities throughout Greater Bristol and Bath and North-East Somerset. Working hours: 37.5 per week. Typically, Monday Friday, 8.45am 4.45pm Contract type: Fixed term until August 31st, 2024; Full-time and Part-time positions available. Responsibilities: • Helping to inspire our communities to develop and lead an active, healthy, happy lifestyle. • To coach a range of high quality, fun and engaging PE lessons in primary schools. • To support Community Coaches and Sports Specialist Coaches, working effectively as a team. • Maintaining the health and safety of those involved in your sessions. • To up-skill primary school staff to develop confidence in delivering PE. • Plan and deliver extra curricular lunchtime and after school sports clubs. • To continually monitor and evaluate all sessions and relationships with the aim of improving the quality, impact, and reputation of our programmes. • Effectively manage school partnerships, acting as the main day-to-day point of contact with the school. • To communicate regularly and effectively with schools, coaches, your line manager, the operations team, and the director of programmes. • Establish positive working relationships with children, their parents and staff in schools, day in, day out. • Assisting with the wider activities of Bristol Sport Foundation, which may include administration tasks, social media, marketing, and events. • Sharing knowledge and ideas with other coaches, to help improve coaching delivery. Personal Specification The skills and attributes outlined in this description are not exhaustive and we welcome candidates who can bring different but relevant experiences to the role. Qualifications, skills & experience: Essential: • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of coaching children, preferably in schools. • Hold a Level 1 UKCC coaching qualification. • A passion for inspiring children to fall in love with sport and to enjoy being active. • To uphold professional standards and a can-do attitude. • A full, valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle. • Proven time management skills. • Willingness to work as a team. • Strong communication skills to engage with children, parents, teachers and BSF staff. • Flexibility and calmness to positively cope with change at short notice when needed. Desirable: • Hold a Level 2 UKCC coaching qualification or qualified teacher status. • First Aid at work qualification. • National Curriculum knowledge and understanding (PE). • A growth mindset to challenge and develop yourself. • An understanding of Diversity and Inclusion in sport.
