Pay scale: £31350 – £47839 per annum depending upon experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver design technology lessons to students with special educational needs.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes creativity, problem-solving, and independent thinking.
• Utilize a wide range of teaching strategies, including hands-on activities, demonstrations, and multimedia resources.
• Assess students’ progress and provide timely feedback to promote their academic and personal development.
• Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in design technology, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching certification.
• Experience teaching design technology to students with special educational needs is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of design principles, materials, tools, and processes.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special educational needs.
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• A valid background check and any other required clearances.
