Job Title: Cover SupervisorLocation: Gateshead Start Date: September 2023 Salary: £85 – £115 per day Hours: 8.30 am – 3.30 pm Calling all Cover Supervisors! At GSL Education, we understand the vital role that Cover Supervisors play in maintaining a positive and productive learning environment. As a Cover Supervisor, you will have to:

• Supervise classes across the curriculum in the event of a teacher absence.
• Ensure that pupils are engaging in pre-planned work.
• Manage pupil behaviour to create a safe and positive learning environment.
• Liaise with other staff members in regard to work being set and ensure you have all suitable resources.
• Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil attendance, engagement and completion of work tasks.

To be a successful Cover Supervisor you should:

• Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher or be a Graduate considering a career in education.
• Have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies (training can be provided).
• Have the ability and willingness to undertake additional training and courses to enhance your professional development.
• Empathise with young people and have good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Have the ability to use your own initiative to work flexibly and be able to respond to different situations.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with us).
• A full checkable work history.
