Job Description:
Reed are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Class Teacher to join a special needs school located in Bexley. As a Class Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality education to students with special educational needs. You will work closely with a team of professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the holistic development of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
– Plan and deliver differentiated lessons based on the individual needs and abilities of students with special educational needs.- Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that fosters positive learning experiences and supports students’ social and emotional development.- Assess students’ progress regularly, track their achievements, and provide feedback to students, parents, and the wider multidisciplinary team.- Collaborate with colleagues, therapists, and support staff to design and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to each student’s specific needs.- Implement appropriate behavior management strategies and interventions to promote positive behavior and engagement within the classroom.- Foster effective communication and partnership with parents/carers, providing regular updates on student progress and engaging them in their child’s educational journey.- Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and contribute to the overall improvement of the school’s educational provision.
Requirements:
– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.- A thorough understanding of different learning needs and strategies to address them effectively.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, parents, and professionals.- Empathy, patience, and the ability to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment.- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the individual needs of students and respond to changing situations.- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for inclusive education.
