1:1 Teaching Assistant Role in Cardiff Your New SchoolAn exciting opportunity has arisen within a large Primary School in Cardiff for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant. This role will be based in the Foundation Phase and will be on a full time basis, beginning from the resumption of term after the Easter holidays. It is a friendly and welcoming school, with a driven leadership team and a supportive team of staff. It has over 450 pupils enrolled, aged between 3 and 11 years old. Your New RoleThe role is centred around the provision of 1:1 support to a pupil with ADHD in a Year 1 Class. You will be primarily tasked with helping the pupil to concentrate during lessons and class activities, as well as aiding them in their work to achieve successful outcomes. It is important that you are able to build a strong working relationship with the pupil, as this will enhance your ability to provide support to them. Furthermore, you will be expected to inform the class teacher of the pupil’s progress on a regular basis. What You’ll Need to SucceedTo be considered for this role, you will require a passion and a drive for working in primary education. You will also need: – Referenceable experience working with children between the ages of 3 and 11 years old in the last two years. – To be registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) or be willing to do so. – To be on the DBS Update Service or be prepared to get one. – Experience working with children with ALN is desirable but not essential for this position.
