Milton Keynes College are seeking a creative and passionate Barbering Lecturer/Tutor to join the Education Team based at HMP Gartree on a part-time basis.

As a Barbering Lecturer, you will be delivering engaging Barbering classes to diverse groups of learners within the prison. The courses are City & Guilds accredited, and you will be delivering Level 2 qualifications.

We are seeking an individual who has salon experience, as part of the role will be based in the Barbershop at HMP Gartree, supporting the learners.

Milton Keynes College is passionate about reducing re-offending by providing learners with qualifications and skills that they can apply to employment whilst in custody and upon release. We would like you to be part of the learner’s journey, offering your skills and knowledge to guide them throughout their courses.

Barbering is a popular course with the learners and this will be an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team!

ABOUT HMP GARTREE

HMP Gartree is a Cat B lifer prison which houses just over 700 life sentence prisoners. The education department offers a wide range of courses which include Functional Skills maths and English and ESOL, a wide range of GCSE’s, Peer Mentoring and a good suite of both Art and ICT qualifications that include Web design and E-image. NVQ’s in Catering are also delivered with excellent facilities and” hands on” experience in our own Flavours staff restaurant.
