Automotive Training Manager

Haywards Heath area. Plenty of free parking on site. It is essential to be able to drive and have your own vehicle for this role – due to rural location of the company.
Salary: £38000 plus yearly performance related bonus (around £6000 per year) plus very good company benefits

We are seeking an Automotive Trainer / Lecturer to train new trainees and semi skilled to become automotive technicians.
The role of the Training Manager is to deliver and develop training courses for company automotive technicians. This includes induction training and ongoing people development to create an industry leading workforce, renowned for technical ability and customer focus.
You will report directly to the Managing Director.
You will be responsible for:
Motivating and training new and existing recruits
Training from base to senior level
You must have a strong understanding of modern vehicle diagnosis especially electrical and fuel systems
You will have an understanding of electric vehicle technology
You will be able to practically present as well as train the theory
You must also have great administration skills – the role will include creating and updating courses and all of the literature for them
This role may suit a senior college lecturer with the ability to influence or a highly qualified technician, looking to come away from the workshop environment into something different, but who is happy to share their experience.
Duties and responsibilities:
Training and Development duties:
Assisting with recruitment and interview processes to deliver quality candidates
Carry out pre job offer assessments to vehicle technicians
Deliver induction training programme and ongoing technical training
Continuously improve induction training to be safety, technical and consumer focused
Develop new technical training courses for both roadside trainees and standard technician roles
Assess and monitor the progress of employees with management
Analyse repair rates and customer feedback to identify training needs
Assist at times with regular one to one sessions with roadside staff and review individual performance against company targets.
Be part of the senior Management Team
Review equipment needs and make recommendations
Provide training solutions for new technology
Develop content to enable training to be supplied to other organisations
Administration duties:
Carry out the induction training administration for new starters
Prepare equipment for new starters and install equipment in service vans
Order uniform , PPE and other equipment such as PDAs for new starters
Maintain the Company Equipment bulk stock, carry out minor repairs and order replacements as required
Keep records of all training and ensure training records are sent to HR
Be a contact for outside certification bodies and external training providers
Maintain the training facility
Contact all trainees to update them of training dates and course information
