Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum dependent on experience and skills
Location: Shifnal School, Shifnal, Shropshire
Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent; Term Time
About our School
Hillcrest Shifnal School is undergoing an exciting project to grow our site and our current offer. This project will consist of a nurture space and vocational areas such as construction, catering and hair & beauty. This growth means we are looking to expand our staff team and we hope that we can find the perfect person to join the Hillcrest Shifnal team.
We are a small school on the outskirts of Shifnal with stunning grounds and rolling countryside surrounding us. Our staff are dedicated to delivering education in a therapeutic and trauma informed way.
As part of our new structure, we have an opportunity for a dynamic and ambitious Assistant Headteacher – Curriculum to join our school, working closely with the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher to effectively lead Hillcrest Shifnal School and deliver our vision, mission and strategic priorities.

About you
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate an outstanding record as a leader and will be able to realise the ambitious vision of securing excellence in every aspect of school life. We are looking to appoint an inspiring, dynamic and committed Assistant Headteacher to lead on curriculum who will join our Senior Leadership Team.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs. You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom. You may have specialist knowledge and experience of working with children with special educational needs such as Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) or Autism, or you may have experience of working across both specialisms. You will be expected to create a culture that enables all learners and staff to excel. You will understand principles of curriculum design and quality assurance processes and will be a driving force in further moulding our curriculum at Hillcrest Shifnal School.
