Due to an internal promotion within the admin team, a vacancy has arisen. We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Administrative Officer who is looking for a new challenge and has a flexible approach, to join a committed team at New River College.
This role will contribute to developing the best possible provision and support for our pupils. The postholder will be required to:
To be successful on this post, you do not need a school administration background, we are willing to organise training for the right candidate (we can show you how SIMS works, for example). We are looking for a person that is looking forward to a busy day, who wants to try new ideas and who genuinely wants to contribute to the lives of young people with drive and passion. The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a team across different departments, as well as have initiative to undertake tasks independently.
New River College comprises of three pupil referral units in Islington (primary, secondary and medical), for pupils with social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH). We teach children and young people aged five to sixteen years’ old who have been permanently excluded or participate in our preventative programmes to address their behaviour, and children and young people with complex SEMH or medical needs. Many of our pupils are below national age-related literacy and numeracy levels when they arrive.

Please note the advertised actual salary is a range based on continuous service, with the maximum range indicating 5+ continuous years with local government/schools. The starting salary will be calculated based on the individual circumstances of the successful candidate/s.
