SEND Teaching Assistant – One to one role – Birmingham Your new company Hays Education are seeking teaching assistants who are able to work with children who have SEND. You will be working in primary schools situated in Birmingham. Your new role The roles have arisen due to there being additional funding within schools. You will be working alongside the class teacher with exclusively supporting a child on a 1:1 basis. You will be expected to adapt resources to support the pupil to ensure that they reach their potential in all subjects and liaise with the SENDCO and other professionals regarding educational health plans and the pupil’s progress. You need to be caring, nurturing, patient and calm to successfully support the child. What you’ll need to succeed To be successful, you will need to hold relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualifications to support children in a primary school, have experience with working with children with SEND, be adaptable to support the child’s needs and have effective behaviour management. You will also be a good team player, have a good understanding and knowledge of the National Curriculum. In addition to this, we will require two satisfactory references.
